Imaging of trauma patients has developed greatly in the past decades. From relying mainly on radiographs, that revealed subtle signs even if major pathologies are present, and invasive diagnostic procedures, such as diagnostic peritoneal lavage in patients with abdominal trauma, to mainly relying on ultrasound and Computed Tomography (CT).
